Lakefront Kiosk Competition

　「シカゴ建築ビエンナーレ」で企画されたミシガン湖畔のキオスク設計コンペ応募案です。 シカゴの超高層ビル郡近くの人工海浜が建設敷地で、海辺のビーチボールをモチーフに、背後の四角いビル郡と対比した丸い形を提案しました。

　風が強い場所の仮設建築なので、表面は大型プリンターで企業広告が印刷できる風通しの良い安価なメッシュ生地で覆っています。半透明のメッシュ生地は、朝から夜に掛けて集まる人々の動きや日照の変化に合わせて刻々とその姿を変えていきます。

This is an entry to Lakefront Kiosk Comopetition organized by the Chicago Architecture Biennial. The round shape , analogous to a beach ball, is proposed to make a striking contrast with the rectangular high-rised buildings behind the artificial lakeshore site.

As a temporary kiosk on the windy lakeshore, material of the outer surface is replaceable mesh tarpaulin, on which advertisement and store information can be printed by a large-format printer. Moreover, half-transparent layered surfaces vary appearance of the kiosk under the changing sunlight and activity throughout a day.
